This game derives from an ancient Chinese game known as Pai Gow which translates to make-nine.  It was used with what can best be described as dominoes. When it finally was brought to America, a way was found to combine their game with American Poker and so Pai Gow Poker was born! To play, you are dealt seven cards and you arrange them into one five-card poker hand, as well as one two-card poker hand. In order to win, both of your hands must beat the dealer’s hands.
